Check if your cosmetics are genuine

Six checks that work for any store or marketplace, plus an EAN-13 barcode checker.

Check a product barcode

Enter the 13 digits under the barcode (EAN-13). We check that the number is valid and where the code was registered.

Note: the prefix only shows where the company registered the code, not that the item is genuine. Combine it with the import sticker and notification number.

Six checks

  1. Vietnamese import stickerOfficially imported products carry a Vietnamese sticker with the product name, importer, notification number and expiry date.
  2. Cosmetic notification numberLook it up on the Drug Administration of Vietnam portal (dichvucong.dav.gov.vn). The product and company names must match.
  3. Batch code and expiryThe batch code on the box must match the one on the bottle. Print should be sharp, not smudged or covered.
  4. Packaging, scent and textureCompare with the brand's official photos. Strange smells, separation or colour changes mean stop using it.
  5. Price and sellerA price far below official stores is the biggest red flag. Prefer official stores and reviews with real photos.
  6. BarcodeUse the tool below to check the code is valid. The prefix only shows where the code was registered, not authenticity.
